Leveraging Your Arizona Tax Credit Opportunity

Most people can agree that preparing their taxes can be a bit of a headache. If you find that you have a positive tax liability this year, what you may not know is that if you live in Arizona, you might have some choices on who to send that money to.

Instead of paying taxes directly to the state of Arizona, you could consider donating to a qualified organization, and in-turn, receive a dollar-for-dollar credit, up to the maximum limits. The infographic below breaks down the maximum tax credit opportunities, and you don’t have to wait until next year to receive the credit—you have until Tax Day (April 15th) to make that donation and claim it on your 2023 taxes!

Before you start writing checks, it's important to determine the eligibility of the organization you are giving money to. Here are the Arizona published lists of qualified organizations for 2023: charitable organizationsfoster care organizations, and public school CTDS numbers. As always, we encourage you to consult with a professional tax advisor. If you need a referral, please reach out to our team!
